Meet the Team: Kameryn Helms, A Christmas Carol Stage Manager

At Encore Performing Arts, our team is the heartbeat of everything we do. Today, we’re thrilled to introduce Kameryn Helms, a dedicated and passionate stage manager for our annual production of A Christmas Carol. Kameryn has been a part of the Encore family for 2 ½ years, bringing enthusiasm, wisdom, and a deep love for theater to our productions.

A Journey in Theater

Kameryn’s love for theater began when a friend encouraged her to try out for an Encore play, and she’s been hooked ever since. Reflecting on her experience, Kameryn shared, “I haven’t been able to get away since then.” She has performed on stage herself, with one of her favorite memories being the preview night for A Christmas Carol. “I was so scared but so excited to see the new things I had learned come to life on stage and work with real professional actors,” she said.

As a stage manager, Kameryn plays a vital role in supporting Encore’s young performers. She loves learning alongside them, sharing, “I love how much I can learn myself from watching and teaching them.”

A Mentor and Guide

Kameryn’s approach to working with young performers is rooted in her belief in continuous growth. “I want every performer I work with to know there is always room to grow and learn, no matter how experienced or old you are,” she said. She hopes to inspire the next generation by teaching them the value of hard work and focus.

Theater Favorites

Kameryn’s favorite musical is Anastasia, a story she’s cherished since childhood, with music that holds a special place in her heart. If she could have dinner with any character from an Encore production, it would be Ebenezer Scrooge: “He has the best character arc, and I think it would be so fun to have lunch with him.”

What Makes Encore Special

For Kameryn, the Encore community is unique in its welcoming spirit. “Everyone here is so welcoming, even when I’m late or don’t know what I’m doing,” she joked. She appreciates the constant opportunities to stay involved, whether it’s the beloved A Christmas Carol in the winter or the vibrant Bright Lights of Broadway in the spring.

Kameryn describes Encore as a place where young artists can find their start in performing, and she’s proud to be part of an organization that provides those opportunities. “I love it here!” she exclaimed.

Looking Ahead

As Kameryn continues her work with Encore, she is excited for the upcoming productions and the chance to help performers realize their potential. Her dedication and passion make her an invaluable member of the Encore Performing Arts team.

We’re so grateful to Kameryn for all she brings to Encore and can’t wait to see the impact she continues to make in our community!
