A Night to Remember: Encore’s 2024 Sensory-Friendly Performance of A Christmas Carol

On December 9th, 2024, Encore Performing Arts proudly presented a special sensory-friendly performance of A Christmas Carol – A New Musical at the Electric Theater. This unique event was designed to ensure everyone in our community could experience the magic of live theater in a welcoming, inclusive environment, and it was truly a night to remember.

With over 150 guests in attendance, the evening began with a warm introduction to the story by our cast members. This brief overview helped set the stage for our audience, making the classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and his journey of redemption more accessible and engaging for all.

Following the introduction, guests were invited to a meet-and-greet with the cast. This was a delightful moment for both performers and attendees, as it allowed everyone to connect on a personal level. Seeing the excitement on our guests’ faces as they interacted with the talented young performers was heartwarming and reminded us of the profound impact theater can have.

The performance itself was a celebration of community and inclusion. Adjustments were made to create a sensory-friendly environment, ensuring the experience was comfortable and enjoyable for all. The energy in the room was palpable, with laughter, smiles, and moments of awe filling the space as the timeless story unfolded.

We are incredibly proud to have shared this evening with the sensory community. Providing an opportunity for everyone to enjoy the magic of A Christmas Carol aligns with Encore’s mission of making performing arts accessible to all.

For those who missed this special performance, we’ve created a video summary capturing the highlights of the evening. We hope it gives you a glimpse of the joy and connection that made this night so extraordinary.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and participated in this event. We look forward to many more inclusive performances in the future. Together, we are creating a community where the arts bring us all closer together.
