Introducing: Page to Stage
A new program from Encore Performing Arts
Encore Performing Arts is thrilled to launch Page to Stage, a dynamic new field trip-based program that gives students a deeper, more meaningful connection to live theater.
Open to students and community members, this program combines educational workshops with group trips to professional productions. Participants explore popular musicals and plays through the lens of storytelling, history, culture, and performance—moving beyond surface-level entertainment to discover the creative process and purpose behind the art.

What is Page to Stage?
Each Page to Stage experience follows our three-part immersive approach
Before seeing the show, students take part in a 1–2 day workshop where they explore the script, characters, and themes. They learn about the historical and cultural context, the writers’ intentions, and the deeper meaning behind the music and storytelling. This experience prepares them to see the production with greater insight and appreciation.
PAGE
We experience the performance together. Students attend a live production of the show they've studied, transforming their academic understanding into a dynamic, real-world experience. This crucial middle step bridges analysis and reflection.
STAGE
After the show, students reflect on what they’ve seen through group discussion and creative response. They’ll connect themes to personal insights in a post-show artist circle, with optional journaling or projects. When available, students may also have the chance to meet cast or crew for a behind-the-scenes look at the production.
ENGAGE
Each session is led by a moderator—a seasoned educator or director—and may include guest artists who bring diverse insight, real-world experience, and a fresh perspective.
Field Trip Experience
At the end of the workshop, students will attend a live performance of the show they’ve studied. This brings everything full circle—transforming what they’ve learned on the page into a dynamic, real-world experience.
Whenever possible, students will also have the chance to meet the cast or creative team before or after the show. While not guaranteed, these special moments add an unforgettable layer of connection.
Enrichment Add-Ons
To maximize each student’s experience, Page to Stage will also offer:
A custom workbook or digital guide with reading material, scene breakdowns, and creative prompts
A reflection session or discussion circle after the performance
Optional writing or journaling prompts to deepen personal insight
A Page to Stage certificate or badge for students who complete multiple programs
Opportunities to present or share their thoughts in a post-trip showcase or artist circle
THE MISSION
At Encore, we believe theater is a tool for growth, empathy, and discovery. Page to Stage exists to help young performers understand the ‘why’ behind the ‘wow’—to look beyond the spectacle and find meaning, humanity, and truth in the stories we tell.
