Encore is excited to present Anaïs Mitchell's haunting folk opera, Hadestown Teen Edition. Hadestown Teen Edition tells the mythical tale of Orpheus as he embarks on a quest to defy Hades and reclaim the love of his life, Eurydice.

Come prepared to sing a 60 second cut from Hadestown or from a song from a Broadway musical that reflects the style of Hadestown. It's essential that your selection is from a Broadway show, ensuring it aligns with the musical's distinctive atmosphere and storytelling.

Rhett Guter
DIRECTOR
Rhett Guter is an actor and choreographer whose passion is collaboration in theatre arts and story telling. Currently based in New York, he has worked on myriad projects all over the country from Shakespeare, to musical theatre, to new works. Rhett received his training at Southern Utah University in Dance Performance and Musical Theatre. His most recent milestone includes co-writing and creating A Christmas Carol - A New Musical.
Vanessa Sierra
VOCAL DIRECTOR
Vanessa made her Broadway debut this year in the musical A Beautiful Noise, captivating audiences with her powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence. Her regional credits include Anita in West Side Story at Marriott Theatre (Jeff Award nomination) and Rebecca, understudying Gloria Estefan, in On Your Feet! at Paper Mill Playhouse. Vanessa is celebrated for her versatility and continues to shine as a rising star in the world of musical theater.
Mike Winslow
MUSIC SUPERVISOR
Mike Winslow is an educator and a musician with a passion for musical theater. He has been involved in local and professional theater companies for over 20 years. He has performed professionally in pit orchestra’s at Tuacahn and the Utah Shakespeare Festival. As a music educator, he was the music supervisor for numerous productions at Desert Hills High School. He most recently worked as music director for Encores 2023 Production of A Christmas Carol - A New Musical. Mike has a B.S in Music Education from Southern Utah University and a M.M from Boston University.
With the production and presentation of Hadestown Teen Edition we are revisiting Encore’s successful SHOW WITH A PRO program.
Show with a Pro combines the incredible talents of seasoned and accomplished professionals with the up and coming generation of young and promising future professionals.
These professionals are cast in a few key roles in our show and serve as mentors to the younger actors in the cast. Our professionals include Rhett Guter, Vanessa Sierra and more guest mentors.
