At Encore Performing Arts, every production is a labor of love, and Alice in Wonderland Jr. is no exception. While the audience sees the dazzling costumes, whimsical sets, and talented young performers bringing Wonderland to life, much of the magic happens behind the scenes. This wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of an extraordinary team of volunteers who give their time, energy, and passion to make each show unforgettable.
From organizing costumes to building props, managing rehearsals, and ensuring everything runs smoothly, these unsung heroes are the heartbeat of Encore’s productions. We want to take a moment to shine a well-deserved spotlight on some of the individuals who have made Alice in Wonderland Jr. such a special experience.
The Wonderland Dream Team
Korrine – Volunteering with Encore for over a year, Korrine has been a consistent presence in productions ranging from Finding Nemo Jr. to Alice in Wonderland Jr. Whether helping at rehearsals or offering support to the young cast, she is always there with a smile and encouraging words. Accompanied by her beautiful daughters, who also share a love for theater, Korrine’s dedication and warmth have become an integral part of the Encore family.
“Backstage was a secret. Who knew YOU are so needed back stage as a parent volunteer. I have enjoyed getting to know the specifics of tech week back stage, hair, costumes, mics, and especially seeing the emotions of all their hard work now coming to life with Costumes!! Most importantly witnessing the magic of the production. It takes a village to get the kids ready. I encourage YOU to come and volunteer backstage and witness the magic and ok some chaos!! ”
Carter – Carter is our amazing youth backstage helper, and her connection with Encore runs deep. Not only has she worked behind the scenes, but she has also performed on stage, making her an invaluable part of the team. Her ability to connect with the young artists and her calm, supportive presence make her an exceptional mentor and team member.
“I love the opportunity to spend time with the kids and make sure they know they are following the show flow (making their cues). I enjoy being able to help the directors with whatever they are in need of. I also enjoy the responsibility of putting on and taking off mics. ”
Martina – Martina has been with Encore for some time now, and her contributions go beyond her own hard work. Her awesome daughters are also active members of Aspire Performing Co., continuing the family’s tradition of dedication to the arts. Martina’s attention to detail and enthusiasm for helping wherever needed ensure every production runs smoothly.
“Volunteering backstage, I have been able to witness the results of what my kids have been up to in rehearsals the last month. Being backstage also helps me grow closer to the magic of the production and give back to Encore who has given us so much with providing these opportunities for my girls. ”
And our newest helper is Michele, she stepped right in and offered so much help!!
“This is my first one volunteering. I am so glad I came to volunteer backstage. I had no idea of the prep that goes into helping each child, the directors, the costumer to make sure the show runs smoothly. It has been a learning experience for me and I am just so glad I could volunteer prior to the actual show so I know what is expected of me as a volunteer backstage. I would highly recommend any parent to volunteer and experience the excitement backstage. ”

Amy – In many ways, Amy is the backbone of Encore. Her creativity and commitment to helping with props bring the world of each production to life. But her contributions don’t stop there—Amy also plays a key role in organizing events and assisting with fundraising efforts. Her dedication is unmatched, and Encore is better for having her as part of the team.
Beyond these individuals, there are so many others—parents, community members, and theater enthusiasts—who step in to help with costumes, front-of-house operations, set construction, and everything in between. Without their dedication, none of this would be possible.
