Encore’s first annual Gala
Encore was thrilled to host our first annual Gala in the top floor of the St George Children’s Museum. What a beautiful event with amazing themed decor and top notch entertainment to keep this crowd of over 90 participants in awe.
The night began with some socializing and delicious food as well as a silent auction featuring dozens of prizes from many generous local business’.
Next the cast of Wizard of Oz entertained us with 4 numbers from the show. We got to see Dorothy, the Scarecrow, TinMan, Lion, Toto, the Witch as well as a dozen or so of the most adorable Munchkins you’ve ever seen!
After that we were favored with a musical number featuring our beloved Oz Director Taz Murie and our Musical Dirctor Ami Gent as they sang a lovely duet of Wicked’s “Because I Knew You”.
Then a little Oz magic with Encore's favorite mentor and board member Rhett Guter. He dazzled us and excited us with some illusions and some mind bending acts that had everyone’s jaw dropped to the floor.
Our last number featured Kari Yancy, who performed as Dorothy at Tuacahn, singing a beautiful rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”. What a treat!! She’s been such an asset to the Encore family!
We were so grateful for the amazing turn out, all the gracious donations (we surpassed our funding goal in one night!!), all the volunteers and servers who made this night run so smoothly.
We owe a debt of gratitude to Amy Stover and her team who put this whole event together so wonderfully! It couldn’t have been half as great without her!! As lead of this team of volunteers and Encore board member and all around good friend, Amy has proven to be a great giver to local arts in our community as well as a rock star gala director!
Thank you all for this great evening! We hope to see you next year!!
