Yes! Encore is adamant with every director we work with that each young performer that is cast in the show gets ample time on stage for dance and musical numbers, even if the young performer isn’t technically scripted to be in that scene.
-
Encore’s production teams council carefully together after auditions to assure that each auditioner gets considered for the roles available. Sometimes this can happen in a day sometimes it takes a few days. But rest assured that our production teams are aware of how excited each young performer is to know what role they got.

No! This is part of being an actor. Sometimes you get the part and sometimes you don't. Auditioning is a matching process and sometimes your talents aren't a match for what is needed for that specific production. That doesn't mean your talents aren't needed in the future! Rejection isn't great, but it's a big part of being an actor. Not getting cast in an Encore performance doesn't mean "no", it just means "not for this specific show". So don't give up! Remember: Auditioning takes practice, too! The more you audition, the more comfortable you will be, and the more you will learn.

That answer depends on the production team of the show. Often times they want to hear songs from the show the young performer is auditioning for and sometimes they are open to allow the young performer to choose the song that best suits their voice and personality.

Comfortable clothing is best since there will be a dance audition as well as a singing audition.
-
You will audition at the time that you have signed up for. Please arrive 15 minutes early. A group of 10 will go to dance and the other 10 go to music/singing and then we switch. Once you begin the audition, you are usually done within one hour.
-
Yes, our fees range from $100 to $250 depending on the size and length of the performance or camp.

If you know at auditions that you have a vacation planned, please note it on your audition form. The director will look at any conflicts and make the casting decision based on that. Typically a vacation doesn’t ruin your chances of being cast unless the vacation is during the week leading up to the performances.
